Terms of using Harbor

Last updated July 7, 2026

Harbor Colorado (“Harbor”) is a free directory that lets Coloradans post that they have space to host someone displaced by wildfire, and lets people seeking housing browse listings and reach out directly. By using Harbor, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Harbor is a directory, not a vetting service

Harbor lists offers posted directly by hosts. We confirm a phone number, but we do not run background checks, verify identity, inspect property, broker or approve matches, or guarantee anything about any host, guest, or listing. Harbor is not a party to any arrangement between users and takes no responsibility for it. You are solely responsible for your own decisions — vet the other person yourself, trust your judgment, and if something feels wrong, walk away. In an emergency, call 911.

Free only — no payment, no price-gouging

Space offered on Harbor must be offered free of charge. Charging for housing here is not permitted, and Colorado law prohibits price-gouging during a declared emergency. Harbor does not process payments and never asks for payment — treat any request for money or payment details as a red flag.

Using Harbor responsibly

You agree to provide accurate information, post only space you genuinely have and control, keep your listing current, and not use Harbor to harass, defraud, discriminate against, or endanger anyone, or for any unlawful purpose. Never post an exact street address publicly. We may remove listings or restrict access at our discretion, including listings flagged as unsafe, inaccurate, or stale.

Text messages

If you post a listing and opt in, Harbor sends automated transactional texts about your listing (a manage link and reminders to confirm availability) and one-time verification codes. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See our Privacy Policy for details.

No warranties; limitation of liability

Harbor is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harbor and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site, from any listing or contact, or from any interaction or arrangement between users. Your use of Harbor and any decision to host or stay with someone is at your own risk.

Other help

Harbor complements — it does not replace — case-managed disaster housing. Dial 2-1-1 (or visit 211colorado.org) for the Colorado resource line and the Airbnb.org / Mile High United Way emergency housing program.

Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
